TYPE 1934 CELLULAR CARRIAGE (WHEELBASE 10,000)

They entered service around 1934 for the transport of prisoners, replacing the shorter wooden-box Type 1911 vehicles. Ten units were built (Kt 48,400 – 409) and some of them were converted into passenger carriages (CT 46,050) in 1945. They could transport 42 prisoners in 7 cells plus 9 escort stations and 8 folding seats. They were in service until the 1990s and then rubber-tyred vehicles were preferred for prisoner transport. One example has been restored and can be seen at the Savigliano Museum.

We have created both the Isabella Brown and Slate Grey versions (with a TV logo); furthermore, the model hook can be inserted on a NEM362 standard hook holder, provided that the pipes on the bench are removed.

In all the wagons and carriages we have built to date, the ends of the axles are housed in CNC-turned brass cups, which makes the vehicle slide very smoothly on the tracks.
